We’ve put this page together to give you a slightly different feel for Peterstone — not just the rooms, the views or the practical details, but how a wedding here might actually unfold.
Most couples understand the house best when they visit. Until then, we hope this gives you a glimpse of the atmosphere, the rhythm of the day, and why so many people fall for the place once they arrive.
A wedding at Peterstone isn’t built around a timetable.
Of course, there is always a plan quietly working away in the background, but the day itself rarely feels rigid or over-managed.
Guests arrive, settle into the house, drinks begin to flow and conversations start easily. The house becomes yours, and the day begins to find its own rhythm.
Relaxed, personal and quietly special.
Morning
The day usually begins gently, with the house slowly coming to life.
Coffee appears, music starts playing, flowers arrive, and the first nerves begin to settle as everyone gets ready.
Downstairs, the rooms begin to change too — candles, chairs, flowers, glassware, music and all the small details coming together.
There is plenty happening behind the scenes, but the feeling is calm. More anticipation than rush.
As guests arrive, the atmosphere shifts.
People gather, take in the views, find a drink and slowly settle into the celebration.
Ceremonies can take place inside the house, outside with the Brecon Beacons around you, or at the nearby Church of St Peter and St Illtyd.
Afterwards, drinks and canapés move naturally between the house, courtyard, terrace and gardens. Photographs happen across the grounds, but the day never needs to stop for too long.
This is often the part couples remember most clearly — everyone together, the views around them, and the feeling that nothing had to be forced.
As the light softens, the house changes again.
Dinner and speeches give way to music, evening guests, first dances, drinks and dancing. The formalities fade and the celebration becomes a little looser, louder and more spontaneous.
Depending on the season, guests might drift between the bar, ballroom, courtyard and terrace, or gather inside by the fire as the evening builds.
And with bedrooms just upstairs, there is no abrupt end — only a slower, happier close to the day.
One of the loveliest parts of a wedding at Peterstone is often the following morning.
Guests slowly reappear for breakfast, conversations continue from the night before, and the house feels calm again after all the energy of the celebration.
For two- and three-day weddings, this is where Peterstone really comes into its own. With 12 bedrooms, an on-site spa, outdoor pool and the Brecon Beacons all around, there is time to enjoy more than just the wedding day itself.
A slow breakfast, a quiet swim, time in the spa, or one last look across the valley before everyone heads home.
Peterstone is not just a summer wedding venue.
Summer brings long evenings on the terrace and drinks in the courtyard. Autumn brings colour across the valley. Winter feels warm, intimate and atmospheric, with fires lit and the house coming into its own. Spring brings softer light, green hills and that feeling of everything beginning again.
Each season changes the mood of the house.
The team are a big part of the Peterstone feeling.
After more than 30 years of weddings here, there is a calm confidence behind the scenes — the sort of experience that helps the day feel easy without ever feeling over-managed.
Friendly, practical and quietly hands-on, the team are here to help shape the day around you.
There is only so much a page can show you.
Peterstone makes most sense when you stand here — when you see the mountains, walk through the house, step out into the courtyard and start to imagine your guests arriving.
We would love to welcome you for a relaxed private viewing and hear a little more about the wedding you have in mind.
