2019 Wedding Trends

The new year has arrived, and so has an influx of happily engaged couples! We would like to wish you all some warm congratulations. Our South Wales wedding venue is popular with couples from near and far – so allow our latest blog to help you learn more about the latest 2019 wedding trends as you start to plan your big day.

Colours

Pantone has announced the colour of 2019 and it’s safe to say it is a departure from 2018’s deeper ultra violet shade; 'Living Coral’ is a bright pinky-orange that can add light and cheer to any aspect of your wedding. This hue works well for Summer weddings when used in flowers, dresses, cakes and makeup. Weddings held at other times of the year can make the most of the shade by teaming it with more muted shades with neutral undertones, or by solely using it in your flowers and table settings. Other shades that are set to be popular include pastels and colours that evoke ice cream.

Opulent wedding cakes

With two royal weddings held in 2018, this year cakes are set to impress. Think the likes of metallic touches, monograms and regal piping – couples will pull out all the stops! Cheese cakes are always popular, but should you opt for the classic ingredients bakers are sure to be using advanced techniques such as rippled icing, sugar flowers and an array of textures and fillings. No one wants a cake that has been seen a thousand times before, and 2019 is the year to do it. You can thank Meghan and Eugenie!

Outdoors, indoors

2019 is the year that brides and grooms will bring the outdoors in. Our Brecon wedding venue is perfectly situated amongst the wonderful Welsh countryside, so it is no difficulty at all to blur the lines between outside and in when it comes to decorating our wedding spaces. Why not blend the boundaries of your celebrations by having food outdoors – our wood fired ovens are the perfect way to warm up on a colder night or to simply enjoy the Summer evenings for longer with your family and friends. Foliage can be used to adorn our terrace, as well as seats and tables, with British (and Welsh!) flowers being all the rage.

This list of wedding trends is by no means exhaustive. If you have your own ideas or want to pick the brains of the dedicated coordinators at our Brecon wedding venue further, don’t hesitate to contact us today. What ideas have you already had for your special day?
